My gift (so to speak) was a fancy score card...let me explain.
During one of our preliminary rounds, as Graham was explaining things, I could not understand what he had done to the score card. He identified strokes with an "X" but since I was a 10 handicap, I expected to have at least one "X" since we were playing the course. When he explained things to me, I just asked him if it would have been simpler to have supplied a legend with the card.
During this night, he gives me a score card, and taped to the card is a Racing Car Legend. He said, now you wanted a legend with your score card-you got one!!
Good one Graham.
Here is John, our photographer, giving me my photo of one of the putts I sank...
Though it may come at the end of this pictorial of our golfing trip, John Stewart, you have been so good to all of us, and answering all my questions about cameras and exposure.
After we had received our gifts, I gave Graham a book on Kingston's and 1,000 islands, along with a Tim Horton's ornament and a Canadian 150th anniversary coin. Rick gave Graham a coin that was commemerative of Afghanistan. As you can see, we were really pleased with our stay.
I gave a Soldier On coin also to John. He was always taking pictures and always positioned in the right spot to capture the moment. If I remember something from John it is (a) don't show emotion on the tee if you hit a bad shot because someone will capture it;
(Graham missing his tee shot)
and (b) be ready to adjust your exposure setting.
